People all across UTS are really interested in blogs: blogs for learning, blogs for research and blogs just for a bit of fun.

Blog platforms are a peculiar technology. They have lasted the test of time – despite the introduction of other social media and new media like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn – and have evolved to be more expansive than just publishing platforms. Come join me as I go through a rundown of the Davids and Golaiths of blog platforms available to anyone who would like to use them.

This will not be a hands-on session, but more of a discussion and Q&A session surrounding the challenges and possibilities when implementing your own blog.

In this session, we’ll discuss strategies, media, creating blogs, benefits and pitfalls, blogging technologies – and what the future might look like.
