Are you interested in using video to enhance the learning experience of your students?

Keen to make and share your own learning and teaching videos?

Want to make easy online video quizzes for your subjects?

You are invited to be among the first to try the new UTS video platform!

In Autumn 2018, UTS will be launching its video solution for teaching and learning. Kaltura will be built into UTS learning systems (UTS Online and Canvas), and will be available to all teaching staff and students. Kaltura will make it easier for teaching staff and students to upload, manage and share videos in Blackboard and Canvas. It will help you:

  • Upload and publish videos for your subject in Blackboard or Canvas – this could be a welcome video, an instructional video, an interview with an industry representative – it’s totally up to you!
  • Manage and share your videos with colleagues and students – invite them to collaborate or just to view video content.
  • Track video engagement through analytics – find out which of your students has been watching, when and for how long!
  • Create video-supported learning experiences for students, like easy-to-create interactive quizzes.

The UTS tool is similar to YouTube and Vimeo, but the difference is that it can be managed from within UTS learning systems in a much more seamless way.

We are now looking for academic staff who are keen to try this exciting new tool. You will be given training and support, and invited to provide any feedback you may have on your experience with Kaltura.

If you are interested in taking part, we will be holding the following information and training sessions at the UTS Library:

Monday 19 February 3-4pm

Wed 21 February 10-11am

Friday 23 February 1.30-2.30pm

Sign up to your preferred session at the library here.

If you have any questions, please contact Amy from the Kaltura project team: amy.simpson-deeks@uts.edu.au.
