A panel of presenters will share their personal career journey – including stories of opportunities beyond academia.

The UTS Careers coach will guide you through the practicalities of:

  • Creating a personal brand

Guest panelists include:
Candy Jenkins, Post-graduate Career Coach, Careers Service. Candy Jenkins is a talent and leadership development professional with over 15 years’ experience. She has worked in global corporations in London and Sydney in banking, IT, telco, and FMCG industries. As the Postgraduate Career Coach at UTS, she is passionate about helping students to understand their unique value proposition, land their dream job, and achieve their career goals.

Dr Liesel Senn, Research Development Manager, RIO. Liesel Senn has worked in universities for the last ten years in teaching, research, and research development. After graduating with her PhD in 2015, Liesel began working in research development at a leading interdisciplinary research institute, focusing on the development of strong ARC applications, project management, and post-award administration. In November 2016, Liesel moved to UTS’ Research and Innovation Office to take up the role of NHMRC Research Development Manager.

Dr Peter Ralph, Climate Change Cluster. Peter Ralph is a Professor of Marine Biology at UTS, and Executive Director of the Climate Change Cluster (C3) in the Faculty of Science. He is also founder of the Deep Green Biotech Hub, member of the IOC-UNESCO Blue Carbon International Scientific Working Group and former leader of the CSIRO Marine and Coastal Carbon Biogeochemistry Cluster.

Dr Ramona Vijeyarasa, Author and Chancellor’s Post-Doctoral Research Fellow UTS Faculty of Law. Ramona Vijeyarasa is designing a “Legislative Gender Index” to assess the gender-responsiveness of legislation. She is author of Sex, Slavery and the Trafficked Women: Myths and Misconceptions about Trafficking and its Victims (2015) and more than twenty other peer-reviewed publications on law and gender issues. Ramona was one of the leading contributors to the Reproductive Health Reality Check blog, sponsored by the United Nations Foundation.
