Who to contact for support during Summer session

If you're teaching classes during the Summer session, support is available! Here’s a quick guide on where to go for help during the session.

The LX.lab

The LX.lab team is here to help from 10-4pm weekdays. We can also connect you with IML and other support areas. For learning and teaching support:

  • come to our drop-in sessions from 11am-1pm.
  • log a ticket at ServiceConnect
  • get in touch via our live chat here at Futures
  • check our events program for workshops and events throughout Summer session.

IT

For systems access and issues, IT support is available from 8am-9:30pm on weekdays, and 9am-5pm on weekends:

  • log a ticket on ServiceConnect or
  • call #2222 for help

AVS

Audiovisual services support is available between 7:30am and 3pm on weekdays. For immediate AVS support in the classroom:

  • go to avs.uts.edu.au for details on the AVS devices in the teaching space you’ll be using
  • log a ticket on ServiceConnect or
  • call #1978.

Spaces

Some UTS spaces will be unavailable during Summer session. If you need information about a specific teaching space, please contact your faculty planner. You can also check classroom availability on StaffConnect.

Security

Security are here to help you 24/7, 365 days a year.

  • for security emergencies dial #6 from internal phones and 1800 249 559 from external phones
  • if your teaching space is locked, call #1192 or #1193, and security will unlock the door for you and your students.

UTS Library

Open from 8am-9pm Mondays to Thursdays, 8am-6pm Fridays, and 1:30pm-5pm on weekends over the summer session.
The Library will be closed from 4pm on 24 December, and will reopen at 8:00am on 2 January 2019.

Cleaning and air conditioning

UTS Central and Building services are available to help with issues related to cleaning and air conditioning.

  • for cleaning concerns, call UTS Central Services on #1013
  • for air quality related issues, contact UTS Building Services on 9514 7477.

Student support

Both HELPS and the UTS counselling service will be available throughout the session.

  • HELPS drop-in sessions for students run 12pm-5pm on weekdays, with the exception of 3 and 4 December. Contact HELPS on #9733.
  • the UTS Counselling Service is available throughout Summer session. Call #1177 to access.
